My name is Cori Morris, owner and softball coach for Powerhouse Athletics. I was born and raised in Topeka, KS, I played softball for 15 years and have been coaching for 10 years. Most of those years I also coached for competitive teams, taking many to multiple state and national championships. For the last 5 years, I have been more focused on building athletes through private lessons. Majority of the players that played for me have since went onto college to continue their academic and softball careers.

I started my softball career at the age of seven and took off from there. I attended Seaman High School where I started varsity all four years. After high school I went onto play at Kansas Wesleyan University and then to Washburn University where I pitched and played 3rd base.

Many times, I am asked what my philosophy or methods are. I do things a little different, I like to start slow and build from there. I do not believe in anything being cookie cutter, I will start with what your daughter has and modify her needs to what she already has. I like to call my method “independent learning”. What I mean is, I want every player to think for herself, I want her to know what she did wrong and how to fix it, what should be the first adjustment and how to command her position.

The love I have for this game cannot be measured, this has by far become one of the biggest passions and I want to pass along my knowledge. I hope I can inspire the next generation of softball as much as I have been. I would love the opportunity to work with your daughter.
